Lahore: She dreamt, she worked, she achieved. Misha Islam of Beaconhouse Canal Side Campus Girls Branch topped the country in Economics in the May/June O' Level Examinations 2011. This is, without doubt, a matter of great pride for the school, her parents, her teacher, Ms. Shagufta, and of course Misha herself.

This is the third distinction for the Branch, the first student being Fatima Tariq who topped the world in Chemistry in CIE 2005. Then it was Irum Tufail who topped Pakistan in Biology in CIE 2007. And now Misha Islam has made us proud by getting a distinction in Economics.

Topping in a subject, without seeking help from any academy or a relative, truly makes you a winner. Her teacher praised her in front of the entire school, saying that she was no bookworm, but an intelligent and hard working student. Her parents thanked the entire faculty for all the support and guidance throughout.

The topper says, 'If it wasn't for them (her teachers), I would not be standing where I am today.' She also says that it was an unexpected achievement, but that was exactly what made it all the more worthwhile for her.
